Dental Check-Ups & Routine Appointments

Regular check-ups help us catch problems early and provide treatment before they become more serious.

It is important to have regular dental check-ups (ideally every six months) so that we can detect any problems at an early stage and provide treatment if necessary.

You may not feel there is anything wrong with your teeth but regular dental examinations and hygiene appointments will help to keep your mouth healthy.

If we do find any issues, we can talk through your treatment options and provide the dental care that you need, and make sure any issues are dealt with as soon as possible – or prevent them altogether. Remember, it’s much easier to prevent problems, than cure them.

During your check-up, we will:

- Examine your teeth and gums

- Look for signs of tooth decay or gum disease

- Check your bite

- Check the condition of any existing dental work such as fillings

- Clean your teeth

- Take X-rays if necessary

- Offer advice on how to improve your oral health

If you have any concerns about your oral health, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to give you advice.

Dental Health Assessment for new patients

We also offer a Dental Health Assessment for new patients which is a longer appointment to establish your individual dental needs. This includes an Oral Cancer check, an examination of your teeth and gums and a full medical history. We will also take X-rays and impressions of your teeth so that we can get the clearest possible picture of your oral health. We will then advise you on any dental treatment that is required and show you how to maintain your teeth between appointments with your dentist.
